в таком адресном пространстве исполнительный адрес формируется из адреса в команде и/или в регистре и адреса в сегментном регистре. Преимущество сегментированной памяти в более компактной кодировке машинных команд. Она широко использовалась корпорацией Intel в процессорах 80x86, однако с удешевлением микросхем памяти победу на рынке одержали процессоры с линейной адресацией памяти (см. linear address space).
